AUDIO: DID MICHELLE OBAMA'S MOTHER CALL IN TO LAURA INGRAHAM

If pressed for time, fast forward to the 3:00 mark to hear the call. When I first saw the headline, I thought it would be a stretch but too many statements corroborate the notion. The caller identifies herself as M.R.(Marion Robinson); she called from Washington, D.C.; she said she was in Martha's Vineyard; and even refers to "Valerie" (Jarrett?).

Ingraham catches it and challenges the caller, who abruptly ends the call.

IS CORNYN BEHIND LAWYERS TO HELP MURKOWSKI?

As Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), Texas Senator John Cornyn endorsed Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey and Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio. Now his organization is apparently doing what it can to help Lisa Murkowski wrest the nomination of Alaska candidate Joe Miller if the final tally indicates he's the choice of Alaskans.

We all know what ultimately happened after Cornyn threw NRSC support behind the wrong candidate in Florida. Ditto for that wrong candidate in Pennsylvania.

Now this from Erick Erickson at Red State:
....word is coming out of Washington that the National Republican Senatorial Committee, already in “cover their butts” mode, is intervening in Alaska to help Lisa Murkowski.

John Cornyn, Chairman of the NRSC, has been upfront that the NRSC will help incumbent Republicans being challenged. But there is a problem with Murkowski. I have confirmed through multiple sources that Lisa Murkowski has already approached the Alaska Libertarian Party. In exchange for putting her on the Libertarian ticket in November, Murkowski will hand the Libertarians a sizable chunk of her +$1 million war chest.
The last paragraph of Erickson's piece should tell Tea Partiers who the 2012 nominee should be:
It’s as if Rob Jesmer, the NRSC’s Executive Director, is a Tea Party saboteur, intentionally destroying the NRSC. On the bright side, because of Rob Jesmer’s incompetence, the GOP has one of the most conservative batches of candidates in a long time: Angle, Buck, Lee, Paul, Rubio, and Toomey — all opposed by the NRSC and supported by Jim DeMint.
As Republicans continue to wonder who would be the best candidate would be in 2012, DeMint is almost always on the right side of issues (and candidates). DeMint / Jindal 2012?
